High Quality Ceramic Spacers to Maintain Gap between Cakes

Steatite has been used for many years in large-scale industrial systems, household electronic appliances, aerospace and automotive applications, and specialized electro-technical instruments such as cathode-ray tubes. A gapped core leg for a shunt reactor, comprising magnetic core elements separated by ceramic spacers cast directly between the core elements. Accordingly, a rigid core leg construction is achieved. To produce low noise & low levels of vibrations a high quality precise core is required, for that ceramic spacer is precisely ground to parallelism of 0.01mm. These ceramic spacers are tightly glued on the top surface of the case pocket with special adhesive under vacuum and then subsequently pressed tightly under pressure so as to achieve desired flatness and parallelism on top & bottom surface. Shunt reactors are the most compact & cost efficient means of compensating capacitive generation in long transmission high voltage power lines & extendable systems.

Ceramic Spacer

Shunt reactors are either series reactors or compensating reactors which are used as an inductive load to control the voltage and provide reactive power compensation. The best and most renowned technology is an iron core design with air gaps, in which only few suppliers have a lot of experience and expertise. The core is made from radially laminated iron packages, while ceramic spacers ensure precise compliance with the specific air gap requirements. The machining of the ceramic spacer is difficult and expensive, and assemblage of the core leg segment by segment is very time-consuming.

Features:

  • High resistivity.

  • Moderate strength.

  • Excellent electrical insulation properties.

  • Low coefficient of thermal expansion.

  • Good mechanical stability.

  • Economically manufactured to close tolerances & complicated shapes

The heart of every Shunt reactor is its core. Precisely ground Ceramic Spacer is the key to manufacture a high quality core. Jyoti Ceramic has a strong commitment to conserve energy and reduce costs of manufacture, while ensuring improvements in quality of wares produced. The updated state of the art technology used in design of the plant not only guarantees quality but also consistency in quality ceramic products.

Zircosil - Zirconium Silicate Micro Milling Media

Zircosil is the registered name of Jyoti Ceramic Industries Pvt. Ltd. for their proprietary formulated Zirconium Silicate composite, specially developed for upper medium density (4.4 g/cm3) ceramic micro milling beads used for wet milling/dispersion of formulation Looking at the market needs for medium density, long-lasting, cost-effective ceramic milling beads, we started an extensive research to develop suitable ceramic milling beads to the specific segment of customers who have bead mills but not suitable to carry the load of Zirconox high density (6.2 g/cm3) beads. We finally developed Zircosil ceramic micro milling beads formulated from microfine fused Zirconium siicate powder sintered at high temperature. Generally, for dispersion or particle size reduction of substances, ceramic-glass beads are used world over in bead mills, pearl mills or in agitating attritor mills Zircosil - Zirconium silicate beads can conveniently replace glass and most of ceramic beads due to it...

Alumina Toughened Zirconia - Introduction & Applications

Introduction Alumina Toughened Zirconia products are products made from zirconia and alumina. Zirconia is an oxide of zircon that is often added to other materials because of its durability. Typically, zirconia tuff alumina has a zirconia fraction of about one-tenth or one-fifth. However, this quantity can be adjusted as per the requirement of the product.  ATZ Ceramics is the perfect balance between price and value. ATZ products are stronger than normal alumina products. They are less expensive than pure zirconia products. So, with Alumina Toughened Zirconia products, you get the best of both worlds. Although both zirconia toughened alumina and alumina toughened zirconia have the same raw material, it is important not to confuse the two composites. In alumina solid zirconia, the ratio of alumina to zirconia is low. In zirconia hard alumina, the opposite is the case. Properties of Alumina toughened zirconia One of the most remarkable properties of alumina toughened zircon...
