Advantages of ceramic thermocouple tubes.

Thermocouple protection tubes and other ceramic thermocouple parts are available in a variety of materials: mullite; Corundum; High purity alumina, mullite-bonded silicon carbide and zirconia. The thermocouple tube is usually closed at one end and used to protect the interior from direct heat. The tubes can be stacked inside each other to provide extra protection and insulation

Duralox 997 Re-crystallized Alumina can be used up to a temperature of 1800 0C. It is particularly suitable for use as an insulator for rare metal thermocouples, because of its extremely low silica content; it ensures that there is no contamination of rare metals such as platinum with silicon. Duralox 997 alumina closed one end Ceramic Thermocouple Tubes are sintered vertically at approximately 1750 0C temperature, in an oxygen atmosphere in microprocessor controlled bell-type kiln. After sintering, 100% thermocouple tubes are tested under air pressure @ 4 bar to ensure gas tightness.

Advantages of ceramic thermocouple tubes and parts

  • Electrical insulation

  • High dimensional tolerance

  • Chemical corrosion resistance

  • High-temperature resistance

  • Very good thermal shock properties

  • Straight, angular, or notch cut

Duralox is durable aluminum oxide and is a registered trade name of Jyoti Ceramic Industries Pvt. Ltd. This means an aluminum oxide ceramic composition containing 90 to 99.7% and a percentage of Al2O3 in its residue.

In addition to the above sizes, ceramic thermocouple tubes and multicore tubes can be manufactured on request. Durlock 997 single and multi bore tubes and insulators are used to insulate thermocouple wires suitable for maximum temperature 1800 0C as per DIN 43725 standards. Tube sizes can be made on request if possible in addition to those shown in the table above. Dimensional tolerance is maintained according to DIN 40680 middle-class standards.

Duralox  997 alumina ceramic thermocouple tubes and multicore tubes are produced by high-pressure extrusion, dry/wet bags with isostatic pressure. We are constantly working to improve product quality, so the data in the brochure may change as needed.
